Increase Your Profits by Marketing on Pinterest
If you don’t already have a Pinterest business account, then what are you waiting for? For some reason Pinterest can be likened to that red headed stepchild that everyone always forgets about or ignores. We’re so into Periscope and Snapchatting while also keeping up to date with our Instagram and Twitter accounts, that we totally neglect Pinterest.
I actually taped my very first YouTube video (Yay Me!) on marketing your business on Pinterest. It’s a short video, but check it out then continue reading below about why I believe Pinterest can help you market your brand and sell your products.
1. Pinterest will increase your website traffic.
Pinterest allows you to post images that are linkable, meaning that whenever any of your posts are repined, the link that you have associated with that image is also repined. Good luck on doing that with Instagram. You CAN’T! Urls aren’t clickable on the ‘gram and it sucks having to always update your link in your bio with your current content.
2. The Stats don’t lie.
– Pinterest accounts for 25% of retail referral traffic.
– Pinterest pins are worth more that Facebook likes. Pinterest generates 4 times more revenue (per click) than Twitter and 27% more per click than Facebook.
– 47% of U.S. online consumers have made a purchase based on recommendations from Pinterest.
3. Your posts have a longer life span on Pinterest
It takes a pin 3.5 months to get 50% of its engagement. It takes a tweet 24 minutes to get 50% of its engagement and for Facebook that number is 90 minutes. This means that the half-life of a Pinterest pin is 1,680 times longer than a Facebook post. Take advantage of the longer life span by making sure all of your content is on Pinterest
ALSO TAKE NOTE
— Call to actions work on Pinterest just like they work on Facebook and Twitter. Call to Actions have been known to increase user engagement so don’t be afraid to add ‘Please repin’ or ‘Please like’ in your pin descriptions.
— Most of Pinterest’s traffic comes from mobile apps, so make sure your blog or website is mobile optimized.
— Pins with description lengths between 100 and 200 characters get repined the most.
— Pins with prices get 36% more likes. This means that consumers are possibly saving your pins because they want to buy them later.
— Brightly lighted images receive 20 times more repins than images that are extremely dark.
— Lastly, images lacking faces get repined 23% more than images that contain faces.
With all of this being said, I greatly believe that Pinterest can be a great tool for you to use to promote your brand. You will also gain some great inspiration in the process.
